Janhvi Kapoor, daughter of Sridevi Kapoor and Boney Kapoor is all set to make her debut in Karan Johar’s film ‘Dhadak’ alongside Ishaan Khatter. The film is the official remake of hit Marathi film ‘Sairat’. There were reports earlier that Karan Johar wanted to make the blockbuster song ‘Zingaat’ as well. Now according to reports, the chartbuster dance number will be a part of Ishaan and Janhvi’s film as well. The song has been shot in Rajasthan.
Janhvi Kapoor has rehearsed for another song for two consecutive days without even taking any break, and she has been rehearsing with choreographer Tushar Kalia. Later the actress also filmed it in Mumbai on a 24-hour schedule as well. Talking about the song Tushar said, “The song which focuses only on Janhvi does not have a name yet nor has it been recorded. We worked with the scratch, the singer will be finalised shortly. Since it’s a new addition, I had no reference point from the original. Fortunately, Janhvi’s an extremely confident girl and didn’t say “no” to any of the difficult steps.”
Tushar also added that Janhvi Kapoor was the one who insisted on completing the rehearsals in one stretch even after Tushar requesting her to take a break. Tushar Kalia had earlier worked with Karan Johar in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ with starred Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Anushka Sharma. He is a trained dancer and has been in reality show as well.
Tushar further said, “KJo is my mentor, I still consult him on everything. He helps me with the choreography. Many of the steps in the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ title song were Karan’s original moves. He was dancing through the schedule. The Dhadak set was no different. Like Karan, Shashank Khaitan too is very knowledgeable about dance.”
For the ‘Zingaat’ song remake Farah Khan has been roped in, a source revealed, "Unlike the original, where the choreography was all about freestyle dance number, Farah will choreograph some signature moves for the Hindi version. Ishaan and Janhvi are terrific dancers so it will be great to see them groove together."
The film releases on July 6, 2018.
