It is currently playing in over 7000 screens and became the 33rd film in China to cross the colossal collection of one billion yuan (USD 147 million).
Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar added that talking on the sidelines of the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), Chinese President added that 'Dangal' is doing well in China and he himself watched it.
Inspired by the life of Mahavir Singh Phogat, 'Dangal' has not only found a resonance with the Chinese audience but has also become the first top-grossing non- Hollywood film in China.
Talking about the release of Dangal in China, Aamir had earlier said, "I always believe that language is not a barrier when it comes to creative endeavours and its success in China has proved that."
