Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is known for his movies that divert from the typical Bollywood cliched stories and focus on much more important topics. The filmmaker has quite a few amazing movies in his kitty, including ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’ which basically kickstarted his career. He then went on to direct superhit movies like ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’, ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘PK’.
While people absolutely loved Sanjay Dutt in the film ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’, only a few know that the role of ‘Munna Bhai’ was initially offered to superstar Shah Rukh Khan by producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra. However, Shah Rukh had backed out of the project citing health issues. Recently, in an interview when SRK was asked if he regretted turning down the role, he stated, “I think every film is written in an actor’s destiny. I don’t think I would have done it as well as Sanjay Dutt has. I think he was fantastic in the film.”
SRK was reportedly offered Aamir Khan’s role in ‘3 Idiots’, but the actor turned down that film as well. Now, as per reports, after 14 years it looks like Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are collaborating for an upcoming project. Apparently, the actor-director duo has finalised and locked a concept for the movie and an official announcement will take place in a few weeks.
