Are you all set to watch Anushka Sharma pull off the role of a cerebral palsy scientist in her next film, ‘Zero’? Well, we sure are! Anushka has time and again proven that she likes a good challenge when it comes to the roles she chooses and this time too, the actress will be seen taking on a really challenging role in the Aanand L Rai film which also stars Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
Talking about her role in the film, she said, “Every role comes with a different challenge. I had to create this involuntary action like a spasm and I had to create it voluntarily. That was really hard to do. But, I followed Aanand sir’s version and I worked with the right people.” She also worked with an occupational therapist and audiologist who helped her understand the physical limitations of her character and how the medical condition can impact speech too.
Anushka Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan have shared the screen several times and have produced hits like ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ and ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’. Talking about what works the best about their pairing, she said, “We have done characters that are very interesting. We find characters wherein we can play off each other and that's what makes it interesting.”
Talking about her journey in Bollywood, Anushka said, “'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' (her debut film with SRK) has completed ten years and in that same month I will be doing another film with Shah Rukh which makes it like a full circle for me – like a ‘Zero’. It’s a cool coincidence.”
'Zero' releases on the 21st of December and we already know what we'll be doing that Friday. What about you?
