Recently, there were reports about Amitabh Bachchan signing on to do Mohanlal's 'Randamoozham'. However, Amitabh Bachchan's spokesperson issued an official statement denying the news. According to reports, Big B was to play the role of Bhishma in the film.
While the director of the film, Sreekumar, confirmed the news to a leading daily, the official statement made by the spokesperson denies any such development. Sreekumar in his statement had earlier said, "Yes, he is the Bhishma of Randamoozham. We aren’t taking any cinematic liberties with the character for the movie, he will be playing the role as it is in the book."
Amitabh Bachchan has now refused that he is a part of the film, and has issued an official statement through his spokesperson. The statement reads, "This is with regards to recent media reports of Mr Amitabh Bachchan reportedly essaying Bhishma in the movie version of M.T. Vasudevan Nair's 'Randamoozham' directed by Sreekumar. As the official spokesperson agency for Mr Bachchan, we would like to deny this news and state that Mr Bachchan is in no capacity associated with or a part of the above-mentioned film directed by Mr Sreekumar. Any news or story reporting otherwise is false and incorrect."
Post this official statement from Big B, there has been no further mention of the same from the director or Mohanlal.
