Superstar Rajinikanth recently met his fans in Chennai, sparking rumours of the actor planning to join politics. While rumour mills went abuzz with the reports of Rajinikanth all set to be a part of a Hindu political party, the actor rubbished the reports and said that the met his fans because he hadn't met them for a long time.
However, Hindu Makkal Katchi President Arjun Sampath recently revealed that he has urged the superstar to join politics and hour-long that he is "in preparation" for it. Arjun Sampath, in an hour long meeting with Rajinikanth, tried to convince the star to be a part of their political front.
Talking to the reporters, Arjun revealed, "Rajinikanth sir should free Tamil Nadu from the clutches of Dravidian rule for over five decades." He also said that Rajinikanth is well aware that the "system is corrupt", and further added, "We urged him to be the flag bearer of alternative politics. When we insisted him to join politics, he said he is in preparation for the same. He said he would feel guilty if he doesn't do anything for the people of Tamil Nadu."
A final confirmation from Rajinikanth on joining politics is yet to come.
