Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmavati' has been in the news ever since its inception. 'Padmavati' is garnering the love of its audience, despite the film being at the receiving end of hatred, controversies, and threats. Ever since it began rolling out, the makers and actors have been witnessing violence and vandalism of the sets. Now, actor Prakash Raj has raised an important issue about the topic. The multilingual actor, who was last seen in 'Golmaal Again', has expressed his concern and questioned his fans ‘Who is responsible for creating such atmosphere.’ Here's what the actor tweeted:
Union Minister Uma Bharti had on Saturday posted an open letter against the makers of 'Padmavati' and the film where she mentioned that though artistes have the freedom of expression, they cannot distort facts. “Jab aap kisi aetihaasik tathya par film banaate hain toh uske facts ko violate nahin karsakte (You cannot violate facts if you are making a movie on a historical event).”
On the other hand, political leader, Giriraj Singh had spoken about the film and stated, “Does Sanjay Leela Bhansali or anyone else have the guts to make films on other religions or comment upon them? They make films on Hindu gurus, gods and warriors. We will not tolerate this anymore.”
The film, starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh is slated to release on December 1. Stay tuned for more updates.
