Ok, so we’re quite sure that you’ve caught up with the entire Kangana Ranaut talks about nepotism thing by now, which means you also probably know about how she had called Karan Johar a ‘flagbearer of nepotism’ on his show Koffee with Karan.
Now, of course, Karan didn’t take that lightly and had responded to her comment while speaking to a leading daily. He said, “When she says ‘Flag bearer of Nepotism’, I just want to say her, I am glad she knows what it all means. I don’t think she has understood the entire meaning of the term. What is nepotism… am I working with my nieces, nephews, daughters, cousins? And what about those 15 filmmakers, who are not from the film industry, who I have launched and who did the movies. That we’re not going to talk about!”
Varun Dhawan spoke about the topic when he was at a summit, on Saturday. The actor stated, “Who all has he (Johar) launched? Star kids only, right? So how is it an allegation? It is a fact, right? However, he has also launched a lot of directors also, like Shashank Khaitan, who is a dear friend. He is from Nashik and he had nothing to do with films. He just gave his script to Karan and Karan wanted to make a film with him. Karan has also made a film titled Gippy. He launched a girl with that too. Sidharth (Malhotra), he is also not a star-kid, but Karan launched him also.”
When asked about what his thoughts were on Kangana’s remarks, he said, “So, what Kangana (Ranaut) is saying is right, but this whole thing is too blown up. I think she was trying to get her point across in her way, but people really stretched it too much. Such things happen in the fraternity!”
