'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' actor Varun Dhawa recently took a dig at the 'Queen' actress Kangana Ranaut during an event in New York. Talking about nepotism, Varun, along with hosts Karan Johar and Saif Ali Khan said that he has made a name for himself in the industry, to which Saif said that it was possible only because of his father, director David Dhawan.
Saif said to Varun that you are here because of your papa, to which Varun said, "And you’re here because of your mummy." Joining in the fray Karan added, "I am here because of my papa." In unison, the three chanted, "Nepotism rocks".
After facing severe backlash for bringing the nepotism controversy and taking a sly dig at Kangana, Varun took to Twitter to apologise. Varun tweeted:
Kangana Ranaut raked up the topic of nepotism during her appearance on Karan Johar's popular chat show, 'Koffee with Karan', and since various celebrities have spoken about the same!
