Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Rangoon' is all set to hit theatres on 24th February. Set against the backdrop of World War II, the film is helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj and is said to be the filmmaker's take on the 1942 'Casablanca'. The film will see Kangana play the role of Julia, a seductress and a stunt-woman, Saif plays a top-notch filmmaker, and Shahid portrays Nawab Malik an Indian troop leader. The film is a love triangle between Kangana, Shahid, and Saif.
While Saif and Shahid have delivered their career best performances in a Vishal Bhardwaj film, this is the first time that Kangana joined hands with the ace filmmaker. Shahid is said to have delivered his career-best performances in Vishal's 'Kaminey' and 'Haider', and the duo are a hit! And 'Rangoon' was going to be no different. While there is still time for the film to release, Shahid's father, Pankaj Kapur, has already seen the film. And according to a leading daily, the veteran actor is overwhelmed by his son's performance. A source close to the leading said revealed, "Pankaj Kapur watched the film last week. He is among the first ones to have seen it. Of course, he loved the film, but what made him emotional is Shahid’s performance."
Pankaj Kapur thinks that Shahid has acted really well in the film, and has done such a good job that he "totally forgot he was Shahid." "Pankaj Kapur further added that Shahid came across as a completely different person. It’s difficult for any actor to impress him, as he has a very keen eye for the craft and its nuances, and that includes Shahid," said the source.
Apparently, Pankaj Kapur even gave feedback about the film to Vishal who he has family-like relations.
