Alia Bhatt to work with ‘The Lunchbox’ director Ritesh Batra
Alia’s mentor Karan Johar, who had co-produced ‘The Lunchbox’, has loved the script of Ritesh's next and has asked him to give Alia a narration of the script
Sakshma Srivastav | Feb 13, 2017, 10:47 ISTAlia Bhatt has often expressed that she is a bit choosy about the movies she signs. Her ‘Dear Zindagi’ co-star, Shah Rukh Khan, had once advised her to step out of that zone of doing just performance oriented roles and also opt for the typical ‘Bollywood masala’ roles.
And now, if reports are to be believed, Alia has been roped in for ‘The Lunchbox’ director Ritesh Batra’s next. Talking about this a source said, “Alia has liked Lunchbox director Ritesh Batra’s script and is on board principally. It was her mentor Karan Johar, who had co-produced Lunchbox, who got Ritesh to give the actress a narration as he loved the script. Ritesh was initially a little hesitant as he thought Alia was too big an actress to even approach. But Alia loved the story too. Right now the dates and financials are being worked out.”
Alia is currently gearing up for the release of her much awaited film, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, alongside Varun Dhawan. Helmed by Shashank Khaitan, and produced by Karan Johar under the Dharma Productions banner, the film will hit the theatres on 10th March 2017.
