This is how you can spot diseases in your plants easily, and prevent them too!

Aphids

This disease can pretty much feed on any part of the plant. These are white to green coloured insects that tend to live under the leaves or stems or even fruits. You can't detect them with naked eyes. Spraying water and soap solution of your plants can prevent aphids, but they might come back later. Planting nasturtiums next to the affected plant is also a good solution!

You must have often seen leaves of few trees suddenly turning dark brown or black by the ends. This is called bacterial leaf spot caused by a combination of bacterial pathogens present in the soil or seed, and warm humid weather. To prevent this disease, make sure the soil around your plant is clean and cover with mulch to stop the growth of bacteria. You can also spray a solution of baking soda, vegetable oil, and natural soap.

Mildew is another fungal disease, caused by humidity levels. You can identify this disease by spotting some fuzzy, whitish fungi growing underside the leaves and the stems. This is caused by overwatering and change in humid levels of the climate. Make sure you are allowing your plants to dry out excess water. Keep your water under the sun and only water the roots to the required amount.

Blackroot rot

The black root rot is a kind of fungal infection in plants. It is common in petunias and pansies. As suggested by the name you can only identify the disease by looking at its root, turning black due to the infestation. It is better to discard such plants with severe decay of roots. To prevent this, make sure you are not over-watering your plants. The ideal pH level for plants should be below 5.5.
