A fever can hit up your body, about any time. Sadly, only doctors carry thermometers on them all the time. And the last we were able to tell we had a fever, our moms figured that out. Thanks to adulating, we’ve now moved out. On our own, doing our thing and without a thermometer. So how do you tell you may be having a fever? Your body will give a few signs. Read on.
02/7Check In With Your Pain Levels
All headaches and body aches, too, are potential signs of a fever. So if you have aches and pains that don't correspond with any injuries, or a headache that's going alongside sweats or fatigue, you might be running a temperature.
03/7Try Taking The Stairs
Fevers can cause you to get exhausted, or to feel winded after doing something simple, like taking a jog, or going up a flight of stairs. So if you're sick in bed and not sure if you're just feeling regular-lazy or sick-lethargic, try seeing how you feel taking a walk down the block or climbing a staircase at home. If you are getting particularly winded, it could be a sign you're running a fever.
04/7Use The Back Of Your Hand, Not Your Palm
Your natural instinct to check if you’re running on higher temperature is by “feeling the forehead.”While that may not be as bad, but you ought to check the way you do it. Never use your palms to check the temperature, is it is not as sensitive to temperature. Use the back of your palm instead. If you have a friend around, ask them to check it for you. It’s not nearly as accurate as the thermometer, but will definitely help you gauge the situation.
05/7Look At Your Cheeks
Another tell-tale sign of a fever is given by the skin, especially the cheeks. If you’re running with a fever, your cheeks will appear redder than usual. This is because a fever can make the skin flushed. A fever causes the blood vessels to dilate. It could indicate the body is in the middle of fighting something.
06/7Take A Peek At Your Pee
Fever causes dehydration. So if you like you’re getting a fever, it’s a good idea to drink natural fluids or water. The dehydration can cause a change in colour of the urine. If your urine colour has gone a tad yellower, take notes. Cuz’ it’s your body’s way of telling you that it has a fever.
07/7Ask Yourself (Or Those Around You) If Your Body Temperature Makes Sense
A fever can either make you feel very hot or very cold. So don’t be embarrassed to ask the people around, “is it too cold in here?” or the other way round. If no one else is feeling the temperature change, maybe it’s just your body.
