Pregnancy can be a beautiful phase of any couple's life. Every parent waits with anticipation to meet their child. But before there was any sort of pregnancy test, there were still ways for a woman to test if she was pregnant. That's when natural pregnancy tests came into the picture. They're made from readily available ingredients in your kitchen, they practically cost nothing and they have no shelf-life issues. So, even though you might be planning a trip to the doctor, if you still want to figure out whether you're pregnant, here are some DIY pregnancy tests that you can opt for at home.
02/5Soap Pregnancy Test
Take any bar of soap regardless of shape, size or fragrance. Put this bar of soap in a clean bowl and then pour a sample of urine collected in the morning on this bar of soap. If you can see the soap begin to froth or bubble up then you're probably pregnant. If there's no reaction on the soap then it's unlikely that you're pregnant.
03/5Mustard Powder Pregnancy Test
Mustard is known to assist in the onset of your period. Fill your bathtub with warm water. Take half a cup of mustard powder and add it to the bathwater. Soak in this water for about 20-25 minutes. Then wait for about three days. If you get your period then naturally you're not pregnant and if you don't then it is likely that you are pregnant.
04/5Sugar Pregnancy Test
Take a clean bowl and put one tablespoon of sugar in it. Then pour a sample of urine collected in the morning on this sugar and wait. The urine of pregnant women contains the hormone hCG or human chorionic gonadotropin which can prevent sugar from dissolving. So, if the sugar dissolves you are not pregnant. On the contrary, if it just clumps together then it's likely that you are pregnant.
05/5Toothpaste Pregnancy Test
You can only opt for white toothpaste for this test. Pour two tablespoons of toothpaste in a clean bowl. Pour the urine sample on this toothpaste. If there's no reaction then you are not pregnant. In case the toothpaste becomes blue or turns frothy then it is likely that you are pregnant.
