Doing your makeup can be a lot more complicated than you imagine it to be. You need to ensure that you're investing in quality products and that they suit your skin type and your skin tone. One of the most important aspects of completing your makeup look is to apply your blush. But more often than not we can end up goofing things up with our blush and if you're anything like us, we're sure you've ended up looking like a clown at least once. And then it's a hassle to get all of that excess product off your skin and make your face look normal. So, if you want to avoid all of this unnecessary drama, here are some blush mistakes you should keep a tab on. Take a look.
02/5You're applying it at the wrong places
One of the worst mistakes you can make during blush application is to apply it at the wrong places. Blush is only supposed to be applied to the apples of your cheek and the hollows beneath your cheekbones. If you're applying it anywhere else you'll just end up making your face look red.
03/5You're not using the right tools
Most of you might be using your fingers to apply your blush, but trust us when we say that's not the best tool you can use. Try to invest in a really fluffy makeup brush so that you can help spread the product evenly on your face. Also, ensure that you tap your brush after dipping it into the product so that all the excess product is shaken off.
04/5You've opted for the wrong colour
You absolutely need to ensure that the colour you've opted for is perfect for your skin tone. If you're on the fairer side, try to opt for tones like frosty, baby pink or peach hues and if you've got olive toned skin, rose pinks will work well. For dusky women, bright red and tangerines can help give your cheeks the right colour.
05/5You're not using the right texture
Blushes don't just come in powder forms these days, you've now also got creamy textures and liquid blushes. So, don't just stick to powder blush. Try to opt for different ones and see which works best for you. While creamy textures work rather well for dry skin, liquid blushes can do wonders for oily skin.
