How many times has it happened, that despite all your meticulous planning, you don’t have a certain product you thought you did? While running to the store to go get that product instantly might seem like a good idea, what if instead you could just find a few products in your vanity that might do the job? Yes, we're saying that your beauty products can have alternative uses so you don't need to worry about not having certain things on hand all the time. Here's how your beauty products can be useful in other ways.
02/11Vaseline
There's nothing like Vaseline when it comes to multitasking. From using it to keep lipstick off your teeth or using it to soothe razor burns and even add volume to your lashes, Vaseline is your one-stop shop for multiple beauty related problems.
03/11BB Cream
Who says BB cream is only reserved for your face and neck? You can use it on your legs and hands to give your skin and even finish so that it looks even better when you wear skirts and sleeveless clothes. It also works wonders on your collarbones.
04/11Concealer
If you’re out of foundation or you misplaced it, you can use your concealer as a stand-in. Just apply some of your concealer to the back of your hand and mix in some of your moisturizer. Use a sponge or brush to apply the concealer mixture like a foundation, and voila! Beauty crisis averted.
05/11Shimmery Eyeshadow
Your shimmery eyeshadow is just as good at highlighting as your highlighter, So if you already own a palette with a highlighter-like shade, you’re good to go.
06/11Hairspray
There are plenty of useful things you can do with hairspray! Spray your bobby pins before putting them in your hair to help them stay put. Spray your tights before wearing them to prevent runs. And spray your freshly-painted fingernails to make the polish dry faster! You can also use it to tame unruly brows!
07/11Eyebrow pencil
An eyebrow pencil is god sent for people with sparse eyebrows. But one may think it's the only use it has. Think again, we say. A brow pencil can come in handy to contour the nose as well. It usually comes in the same shade you would contour your face with, has the same amount of pigment required from a contour product and the desired waxy texture as well. What's more? It's incredibly handy to move over from your brows to nose. We LOVE this alternate use!
08/11Lip balm
Lip Balm is a basic makeup/skincare product that can be found anybody’s makeup pouch. But it doesn’t just keep your lips soft and smooth. There’s more. You can use your same old lip balm for cracked cuticles, to prevent blisters and to avoid a mess while colouring your hair. Not only that, it can also be used to tame flyways and eyebrow hair. The list is endless.
09/11Mascara
Your mascara can double up as eyeliner and not just any eyeliner, a gel-based, waterproof, long lasting eyeliner. All you need is an eyeliner brush, to dip into the mascara formula. You can line your eyes any way you please. In fact lining your eyes with the mascara’s formula would be much easier, thanks to its gel-formula.
10/11Translucent powder
A translucent powder is ideally used for setting the makeup or taking off excess shine from face. However it can also be used to add extra body to your lashes. With an ear bud, apply a little translucent powder on to the lashes and then apply mascara as usual. You’ll notice your lashes look thicker after doing so.
