02/5You skip meals
It's easy to skip a meal when work is piling up or you have a hundred errands to run. However, you could be damaging your health in the long-run if you make skipping meals a habit. "So many of my female clients and friends skip meals, especially breakfast, in an attempt to 'save' calories," Alyssa Tucci, RDN, senior nutrition manager of Virtual Health Partners, told a news portal. Adding, "But there is no such thing as saving calories. Skipping meals, especially breakfast, destabilizes your blood sugar, and this makes you more likely to choose less healthful foods and eat more than you need to at your next meal."

03/5You cut out carbs
Carbs have gained a bad rap and many people opt to follow a low-carb diet. However, cutting it out completely is not the best idea, may nutritionists say. "Carbs are an important source of energy for your body, and especially for your brain," Alyssa Tucci, RDN, senior nutrition manager of Virtual Health Partners, told a news portal. Adding, "You need at least 130 grams of carbohydrate per day to function properly."Consume more complex carbs like whole grains, beans and starchy vegetables.

04/5Too much screen time
It may feel like smartphones and other digital devices are taking over our lives. However, experts say it is time to take control and be mindful about how much time you spend on them. Why? Because they can impact your body in ways you cannot imagine. "I see an incredible amount of tight pectoral and sternocleidomastoid (chest and neck) muscles, along with backs and necks that are out of alignment, as a result of women keeping their heads dipped down for hours at a time,"Elizabeth Trattner, a doctor of Chinese and integrative medicine, told a news portal. Adding, "Be more cognizant of proper posture and limit your screen time as much as possible."

05/5You only use sunscreen in the hot season
Sunscreen is a must no matter what the weather is doing. "We are exposed to ultraviolet radiation every day, even if it's raining or cloudy,"Deanne Mraz Robinson, M.D., co-founder and president at Modern Dermatology of Connecticut, told a news portal. Adding, "UV radiation damages our DNA, which can lead to precancerous lesions and skin cancer. That's why it's so important to protect our skin every day." Make sure to use a quality sunscreen product daily.
