It's one thing to know of a fashion myth or a stereotype and it's another to actually follow it. And for all the ladies out there who're restricting themselves from following a certain 'fashion rule', trust us when we say this, there are no rules in fashion. You make your own rules when it comes to styling yourself to define your personality. And this is why, it is very important for us to break a few basic stereotypes that women across the world tend to believe in. There's so much to explore when it comes to fashion, how can you not experiment enough?
02/8Red lips are not for dark women
Roll your eyes on anybody who believes in this. There are so many lip shades available in the market and so many women love it when they paint their lips red. Red lips are classic, and you can never go wrong with it. It's such a go-to colour, how can you not?
03/8Bold jewellery isn't for thin women
There's nobody to decide what kind of jewellery suits you and what doesn't. If you're the kind of woman who likes everything bold in spite of your height and size, experiment your way to glory. Make your own fashion statement.
04/8Crop tops are only for thin women
Says who? Remember this women, nobody else gets to decide what you wear according to your body type. If you're the kind of a person who loves experimenting with whatever your build might be, there's no stopping. If you're on the larger side and love crop tops, go for it! Feel comfortable, look great, that's the only important thing you need to know.
05/8You shouldn't mix two prints
Just as efficiently as you can pair two colours, so can you pair prints too. Be it intricate or large, mix it up if you may. Turn some heads and drop some jaws with the attitude that you carry with your fashion outing.
06/8Large prints for large women and small prints for petite women
This one's absolutely false. You can pull off any kind and size of print that you want to, until and unless it suits you. If you are a petite woman and loves to flaunt big prints, don't stop yourself. And if you're on the larger side wanting to wear tiny prints, you can very much do that too. Make your own fashion statements rather than following others.
07/8Bright colors are not for dusky women
There's absolutely no colour that you can't wear just because others believe you shouldn't. If you think you can nail it with all bright colours with the kind of dusky skin you have, none of the inhibitions should stop you from doing so. Go ahead, turn some heads with them bright colours, woman!
08/8High heels are preferred more over flats
But then where's the comfort if every woman is going to run behind just the looks of it? Of course, high heels look fantastic, but so do flats. You just have to pick the right ones for yourself and you're good to go. Let nobody tell you that you can't wear a specific thing, colour or type of footwear. Believe in what suits you and follow just that.
