If you've been on Instagram lately, then you probably must have noticed that braids are back in fashion, and in a big way too! From celebrities to fashion shows, to fashion bloggers — everyone is braiding to look edgy, chic, and beautiful. And while many of the braids we see on celebrities are done by professionals, trust us when we say that they are not easy to replicate! We have been spotting Janhvi Kapoor work several braided hairstyles whilst promoting 'Dhadak' and we fell in love with all of them. Here are all the ones we can't wait to try ourselves!
02/6The Boho braid
These are probably the simplest to replicate! Take thin locks of your hair and braid them, so that occasional, thin braids fall all over. This is great for a simple, boho look. We love how her hairstylist has incorporated braids in this open hairdo of hers. They make for fun surprises in the hair!
03/6The edgy braid
This one has become a favourite with celebrities. It's easy to do and lends your look that slightly edgy and badass vibe. Give yourself a deep side part, and with the help of a dab of your trusty hair gel, dutch braid on the smaller side. Once you reach past your ear, secure the braid with a couple of pins and brush through the other section to perfect the look.
04/6The Punjabi kudi braid
This is a look we were totally loving on Janhvi! This is a style of braid that many Indian moms, especially ones from Punjab, know how to make in a trice, this one is a classic. Also known as Boxer Braids, it involves making double dutch braids right from the top of your head and going all the way down.
05/6The mixed-up braid
Much like the name suggests, this one is a mash-up of many kinds of braids. And while it might look complicated, it's a look that's easy to recreate if you have the time! You will have to start with a crown braid, branch out into a fishtail braid, and finally, end in one, thick braid.
06/6The braided ponytail
This one is perfect for the days you are running late but still want to do something interesting with your hair. Just add a crown braid on one side of your head, and secure it at the back. Pull the rest of your hair into a tight ponytail, and you’re done!
Try these braids and let us know how they turn out!
