02/9Jai and Aditi's friendship!
Miles away from the conventional hero and heroine, before Jai and Aditi realised their romantic feelings towards each other, they were best friends first. Wildly different yet similar, Jai and Aditi's friendship truly gave us some hard-defined goals!
03/9The gang!
Not only the film showed teenage relationships in perfect light but also explained how friendships worked. Jai and Aditi's closest friends, Rotlu, Jiggy, Bombs, and Shaleen formed the core of the story and were extremely fun and relatable.
04/9Platonic male-female friendships!
While Bollywood has us believing ki 'Pyaar Dosti Hai', this film managed to prove that platonic friendships between people of the opposite sex are not only possible but also needed! While Rotlu and Bombs and Jai and Aditi did end up together, it was only after their friendship stood the test of time!

A truly charming film, 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' was an extremely relatable film for all the late '00's college-goers. A candid film about friendship, fibs, and falling in love, 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' is truly one of our most-loved films!

A perfect combination of soulful, breezy, peppy and dance numbers, 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' truly was a memorable album. From the extremely catchy, 'Pappu Can't Dance Saala' to the jazzy, 'Tu Bole' to the heartbreaking 'Kahin Toh,' the album is truly timeless.
07/9Sibling bond
Though Prateik Babbar had a very small role in the film, it definitely left an impression on us! One of our favourite Bollywood brothers, Amit was also Aditi's friend and also the one pulled her leg and embarrassed her in front of her friends the most.
08/9The parents
One of the biggest shoutouts in the film goes out to the parents. Be it Ratna Pathak Shah's working single mother or Aditi's uber-modern parents, Peachy and Pumpkin, they all were definitely the coolest. Plus, the film also gave us this one cool dialogue,
Aditi: College ke paanch saal kahan nikal gaye, pata hi nahi chala.
Savitri: Phone pe beta, phone pe.
