He then went on to act in the film 'Baazigar' in which the film centered on him as the villain. However, he attained a lot of fame for the same. One of his most recent negative roles in the film 'Don' also won over the hearts of the audience. Truly, these roles were made for SRK.

Sanjay Dutt is touted to be one of the most popular actors in the film industry. His versatility knows no bounds and he proved this by playing a negative role in the 2012 Bollywood film 'Agneepath'. The film also starred Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles but it was truly Sanjay Dutt who stole the show. 'Agneepath' is a retelling of the 1990 film of the same name and starred Danny Dengzongpa as the villain in the original film. So, Sanjay had to bring his A-game to the film and that's exactly what he did. An unscrupulous man, often mocked for his hairless appearance; he runs Mandwa as a concentration camp and exploits the villagers in order to deal in cheap cocaine. His portrayal of Kaancha Cheena left the audience mesmerised.

His character although negative was shown as the cool guy and John gained immense popularity after he played this role in the film. Let's just say John fit perfectly into the role. He next also played the role of gangster Manya Surve in the film 'Shootout at Wadala'. Just like its prequel, 'Shootout at Wadala' also focused on the life of a gangster Manya Surve who was shot dead by the police in 1982.
