Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan starrer 'Simmba' is on a roll. The film has collected Rs 124.45 crore in its five-day run at the domestic box-office and has gone on to become one of Ranveer's biggest hits. Masala, action, drama, entertainment, you name it and the film has got it. And the audience seems to be going gaga all over the movie. While 'Simmba' has turned into the eighth consecutive film to go past the Rs 100 crore-mark for Rohit Shetty, it is Ranveer's fourth film to hit the Rs 100 crore mark and has also marked the debut of Sara Ali Khan in the Rs 100 crore club.
Now, that the film has garnered such immense success and positive reviews, the buzz is that there might also be a sequel on the cards. Rohit Shetty has already converted 'Golmaal' and 'Singham' into franchises and if reports are to be believed, he intends to turn 'Simmba' into a franchise as well. “Rohit Shetty has not designed Simmba as a one-off occurrence. Ranveer will be back as Simmba again. And this time, Ajay Devgn’s Singham won’t be a cameo like it is in Simmba. In the next Simmba film, Ranveer and Devgn will be fighting corrupt elements as a team,” a source reported.
As of now, there's a very high chance that 'Simmba' will cross the Rs 150 crore mark and since there are no major releases this week, the film might also cross the Rs 200 crore mark. Well, we wonder if we'll get to watch a sequel soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
