The 64th National Awards winners were announced today. This year's Jury Chairperson in Feature Films category was film director, producer, and screenwriter Priyadarshan. With over 300 films from across the country vying for the top spot this year, the selection process began on March 16 and culminated today.

02/25Most Film Friendly State
This year Uttar Pradesh was awarded the title of the 'Most Film Friendly' state. The state of Jharkhand also got a special mention in the same category during the ceremony.
03/25Best Writing on Films
The prolific Indian film producer, columnist, writer, Founder-Dean of BOFTA Film Institute, G Dhananjayan was awarded the National Award for 'Best Writing on Films' for his book, 'Pride of Tamil Cinema'.
04/25Best Book on Cinema
Written by Yatindra Mishra, 'Lata Surgatha', a book that narrates the life story of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, was awarded the National Award for 'Best Book on Cinema'.
05/25Best Music
A film about two Hyderabadi sisters, the Indian short film, 'Leeches' has won many International accolades. Starring Sayani Gupta, 'Leeches' was awarded the National Award for Best Music, which was composed by Tanuj Tiku.
06/25Best Animation
Bringing Bhil Art onto a world platform, directed by Nina Sabani, 'Hum Chitra Banate Hain' was awarded the National Award for Best Animation.

Nila Madha Panda's 'Kadwi Hawa' and Shubhashish Bhutiani's 'Mukti Bhawan' got a feature film special mention during tne National Awards ceremony.

At the 64th National Awards, Adil Hussain won a special mention along with the filmmaker Shubhashish Bhutiani for their 'Mukti Bhawan'.

Sonam Kapoor got a special mention at the National Awards for her portrayal of Neerja Bhanot in the movie 'Neerja'.

Directed by Raju Murugan, 'Joker' won the National Award for the Best Tamil Film under the awards for Regional Films category.
