Sonam Kapoor is THE fashionista you need to follow. But you’ll already know that right? Well, did you’ll also know that Sonam is also quite the saree-enthusiast? The actress has worked the classic piece several times now and being the fashionista she is, has given it her own unique chic twists every single time she donned the garb. And with festivities in the air, we bet all of you’ll have the ‘saree fever’ too. So who better than Sonam to take inspiration from! Scroll on and see how the diva has worked the garb 8 times, each time differently and in glam style.
02/9Sharp and structured
Sonam’s two-toned structured saree wasn't just elegant but also kept her looking rather sharp. Here, Sonam worked a saree in a rather stiff fabric lending a sharp silhouette to the look. Her trendy sleeveless blouse kept things looking rather sexy and we love how she has let the unique outfit take centre stage by doing away with any accessories.
03/9The denim saree
If there was one person who could possibly think of working denim with the saree it had got to be Sonam. Her pant-saree made for the most unique but glamorous look and the turtle-neck denim blouse too took the cake! Don’t forget to spot the leather belt! Super cool, right?
04/9Long sleeves, please
While we know this is a ‘red-carpet’ look and don’t expect you to replicate it, what we do ask of you is to grab as much inspiration from it as you possibly can. Sonam proved that long-sleeve blouses are so not a ‘bygone’ yet and the unique drape helped add drama to the whole look. Of course white and gold being a classic combo, it had to all pair out perfectly.
05/9Chic and colourful
Here, Sonam donned a khadi saree and worked the rather plain saree with a matching and a multi-hued jacket-blouse which helped bring in that brightness to the otherwise subdued look. The bandhgala feature brought in that ethnicity and of course her statement earrings helped uplift the entire outfit further.
06/9Put a cape on it
Here’s one more unique saree that Sonam donned on the red-carpet a while back. Other than having a unique drape, the net cape made for a chic addition to the contemporary-ethnic look. The heavily embroidered blouse perfectly off-set the neutral coloured saree lending that ethnicity to the contemporary look. That choker though…
07/9Shimmery in silver
Long before metallic hues became trendy, Sonam donned an all-silver saree with even a matching blouse. The heavily embroidered and embellished piece made for such a festive look and with the turtle-neck blouse, Sonam added her own twist to the Indian look. We also love that the diva chose to wear her hair high-up thus not distracting from the gorgeous blouse in any way.
08/9Flamboyant in florals
This blue saree of Sonam’s is probably one of our favourites. The floral ‘pallu’ helped lend such a refreshing vibe to the Indian look and the embellished backless blouse helped add that ethnicity to the look. Of course, there is also that addition of the front ‘pallu’ which Sonam worked in chic style.
09/9Bold and beautiful
This is probably one of Sonam’s boldest ethnic looks. The champagne net saree reeked of elegance and Sonam added her spice by working a sheer collared blouse with the garb thus lending that sexiness to the otherwise elegant look.
